TBP Talent Take Iceland

April 10, 2019

On our latest TBP Talent trip, we took a small group of our amazing signed talent away to Reykjavik, Iceland!

Our journey to Stansted airport was made quick and easy by the Stansted Express, and after arriving in less than an hour from Liverpool Street, we whizzed through security to explore Duty Free and relax in the lounge before our flight. After unwinding with our beauty treatments from Benefit, Jo Malone and Elemis, we received our food from Not Always Caviar and hit the runway. Three hours later we arrived in Reykjavik and headed to our accommodation - The Radisson Blu Saga Hotel

Located in the heart of Iceland's West District, The Radisson Blu Saga Hotel sits just ten minutes from the city centre. The girls settled into their stylish, modern rooms, with time to unpack before heading for a luxurious dinner courtesy of Mimir - the hotel's newest restaurant. Mimir is an atmospheric restaurant, focused on celebrating the hotel's relationship with farmers in Iceland. Each dish exploded with freshness and we were blown away by the quality of the food. Our talent's favourite dish was the homemade waffles made with fresh homemade cream and blueberries. Everyone gave Mimir a ten out of ten for food, ambience and service!

After a cosy sleep at The Radisson, we enjoyed a buffet breakfast of fresh warm pastries and eggs with an array of other fresh choices that left no taste bud untouched. The girls were ready and eager to explore our first stop - The Blue Lagoon. One of the most popular tourist attractions in Iceland, The Blue Lagoon provides a serene experience in the geothermal seawater of Reykjavik. Of course, there was no better way to indulge in the rejuvenating qualities, than whilst sporting Figleaves latest swimwear collection! With styles to suit any shape, Figleaves provide comfortable, cute and fashion-forward swimwear.

To ensure the healing properties from the Lagoon were embedded in the girls luscious locks, they used Maria Nila haircare products to treat their hair post-swim. Perfect for protecting hair from the icy winter weather, Maria Nila's 100% vegan and cruelty-free collection protected their hair from the harsh Icelandic temperatures.

After a free-afternoon we took our talent for a six course tapas & steak-themed tasting dinner at Burro. Burro is a fun, dynamic restaurant with a delicious selection of food. The girls left filled warmly with good company and delicious food. Our next adventure took us on a night-time trip to the Northern Lights, with the help of Isango Travels. We just missed out on experiencing the Northern Lights due to a cloudy sky and full moon but the homemade hot chocolate and Icelandic pastries softened the blow. After a much needed sleep, we had our last scrumptious breakfast at the Radisson, consuming as many warm fluffy croissants as possible. Refreshed and energised, we spent the morning strolling around the local town; with small square windows and vibrant coloured houses, the view looked like a page from a storybook. After dedicating time for Insta pictures, alongside exploring of course, we all headed for lunch at Kopar- a restaurant inspired by its environment. Kopa provided an incredible dining experience with unbelievable food that left us all full to the brim. Kopar treated us to the four-course tasting menu, meaning we indulged in a variety of seafood dishes from crab balls and fried cod tongue, to ling with cheesy risotto. The lunch was a wonderful way to end our trip, leaving our hunger appeased before setting off back home.

We had such an incredible stay in Iceland with our TBP Talent, a #TBPAbroad trip we won't be forgetting in a hurry! A big thanks to our partners involved: Stansted Express, Stansted Airport, Radisson Blu Saga Hotel, Figleaves, Maria Nila, Burro, Kopar and Isango Travels.
