Top 5 Ways to Network with Bloggers

Feb. 15, 2016

This week The Blogger Programme has teamed up with the lovely Emma Campbell to share her Top 5 Ways to Network with Bloggers! If you're new to the blogging world or are just looking for some tips to give your blogging career a boost, check out Emma's advice below.

Emmablog

During my six years of blogging, I have definitely learnt a thing or two when it comes to running a blog. From SEO and social media, to wordpress and web design, it’s been a huge learning curve and one of the most educational journeys. However, one of the most important things I have learnt is just how beneficial it is to network with other bloggers. Building up relationships and getting to know other bloggers has proved to be essential for my blogging career.

Not only can networking help you to learn tips, gain inspiration and grow your following, it also gives you something much more valuable: new friendships. You and the blogging community have one main thing in common – a strong passion for your own blogs – which provides an excellent base for a friendship to form.

If you are new to blogging, or haven’t started actively networking yet, then take a look at my top 5 tips on how to network with other bloggers successfully.

1. Utilise Social Media

Use Facebook, Twitter, Google plus and Instagram to comment on other blogger’s posts and links. It’s not creepy when it’s done right! Just drop them a tweet if you love one of their latest posts, or show some interest in their latest Instagram photo. Join the Twitter chats and get involved in discussing hot blogging topics. Not only will you learn some tips, but it’s really fun discussing the blogging world with people just as interested as yourself. This is a great way to get to know other bloggers, thus raising your own blog’s brand awareness.

2. Facebook Groups and Forums

There are so many Facebook groups out there nowadays which specialise in a range of different blog categories. These are great forums to get support from other bloggers, where there is usually someone always at hand to help you with blog queries. They are also beneficial for hearing about blog events, new projects, or blogger meet-ups that you may have been out of the loop from if you hadn’t joined…

3. Attend Events, Blogging Conferences and Meet-Ups

This one is one of my personal favourite ways to network with other bloggers, as not only does it allow you to speak to new people, it is also a great addition to your social life. Back in 2010, there were very little blog events, but now, I can sometimes be attending 3 a week, and I absolutely love it. The majority of people there will be bloggers, so it’s a nice way to mingle with fellow bloggers whilst learning tips and advice too. The bloggers you meet at these events can open doors to other events you hadn’t even heard of before. A cheeky mid-week Prosecco is always needed too, right?

4.Comment On Other Blogs

I admit, this is one I need to improve on myself. Commenting on other bloggers posts is a lovely way to show your support to other bloggers, and is a less direct way of introducing yourself and your blog to others who stumble upon the post. It encourages conversation, and may lead to people checking out your own blog too.

5.The Blogger Programme

And lastly, The Blogger Programme has been a great way to find bloggers I’d never known of before. They have over 20,000 bloggers from all over the world and it’s really easy to search for the exact types of bloggers you like to follow. You can follow a blogger's TBP profile, favourite their images and even check out all of their social media pages.

We hope you've enjoyed reading Emma's top 5 tips and don't forget to check out her blog here. Don't forget to let us know in the comments if you try out any of these tips.
